Indeed, everything requires energy. Without energy, nothing can be created or destroyed. Fortunately, research shows that every pound of recycled plastic reduces energy consumption by 84 percent and emissions by 71 percent. This study was documented by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the PET Resin Association (PETRA), and the Association of Post-Consumer Plastics Recyclers (APR) and was found to yield effective results. Therefore, the more you recycle, the less energy you use in the long run.

Myth: You can't influence the public interest.

Public apathy is often thought to be the limiting factor preventing the world from making major changes when it comes to landfills and contaminated water. That's not necessarily true. Before considering public issues as the main issue, observe the recycling environment and its availability. Large, easily accessible containers with clearly marked usage have a positive impact on increasing the amount of recycled materials. The public has been concerned about the environment for 20 years. The population has a desire to recycle, but in many parts of the world there are often no trash cans. Poor marketing and presentation of recyclable materials can be confusing and frustrating for beginners.

Containers in which plastic materials are recycled must indicate what and how they are placed. In some communities, it is very simple to put everything in one recycling bin. This is called "single-stream recycling." From there, recycling centers and facilities quickly and efficiently separate the plastic from other materials.

So as technology and packaging change, recycling must evolve, and governments and community leaders must continue to find ways to participate in making the world a cleaner place .
